We have been delving into negatives taken by my late father, Charlie Hayward, back in the 1950s, and have come up with these images of Shifnal Carnival parade.
Some familiar names appear on the carnival floats, including Wrekin Ales, Broadway Brewery and Reginald Tildesley.
The pictures feature a carnival queen, John Bull and various colourful characters as the parade makes its way through the town's streets.
Named floats include 'Wot's Cookin' and 'The Broadway Tramps'.
All the pictures were taken on a folding rollfilm camera and, considering their age, have lasted remarkably well.
The negatives were stored in folders from A D Murray Chemists who were situated in the Square, Shifnal.
