I bought a new Pentax SV 35mm camera in 1965 and, to test it out, went for a walk around my home town of Shifnal in Shropshire.
Within a year many of the buildings captured on film that day had gone, including the Town Hall, Bromley's hardware shop and the library.
Such a shame that after the demolition all that resulted were a few car parking spaces.
A large house in Broadway next to the Wheatsheaf pub was demolished to allow access for lorries down to the Jig and Tool factory.
The large Station Master's House in Market Place disappeared - to be replaced by a public toilet.
Things change quickly so it's always worth carrying a camera and recording scenes for future reference.
