Botallack is a village near St Just in west Cornwall which lies within the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.
The mining ruins in this area are of great historical and industrial importance and are protected by the National Trust.
The Botallack Mine site includes two engine houses, which are featured in this collection of photographs.
Tin mining extended for about 400m under the Atlantic ocean, with the deepest shaft 250 fathoms (about 500m) below sea level.
The 2015 and 2016 BBC television series Poldark was filmed partly in Botallack, using Manor Farm as Nampara.
