The Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is recognised as one of the finest landscapes in Britain.
It was designated in 1958 and covers an area of 802 square kilometres, which is a quarter of the entire county.
The Shropshire Hills AONB extends from the Wrekin to the Clun Forest and from the Stiperstones to the Clee Hills.
