It was the longest day of the year - and here is sunrise over a field of purple phacelia at Beckbury, near Shifnal. I set my alarm for 3.30 so that I could get to the location with time to spare, and the only sign of life as I drove along the lanes was the occasional rabbit darting out in front of me. Not long after I got this shot the mist rolled in across the field and the tree was hidden from view.

Everything in the picture is in focus, from the flowers in the front to the tree in the background. It involved taking no fewer than 43 shots, each focused a little further forward than the last and then combined to create this image.
