Misty sunset in the Corvedale, Shropshire, with the Brecon Beacons on the horizon.
A glorious sunset of black, gold and white in the Corvedale, seen from Brown Clee. I was standing on the ramparts of Nordy Bank hill fort for this shot, looking across the misty landscape towards the Brecon Beacons - now known as Bannau Brycheiniog - more than 50 miles away.
Standing out on the far horizon to the right are the peaks of Cribyn, Pen y Fan and Corn Du, while the dark shape rising above the mist on the left is Mortimer Forest, which straddles the Shropshire and Herefordshire border. I spent a total of seven hours on the hill, but this turned out to be the best time of the day.
