A footpath leading to Ganderbeach in south Shropshire.
It’s only a simple scene - a weathered stile leading to a path through a field of gold - but for me this is quintessential Shropshire. I was out near the Stiperstones one evening when I came across this view not far from Bromlow Callow. In the distance is a forested area known as Ganderbeach, and so far no amount of research has enabled me to discover how it got the ‘Gander’ part of its name. Shropshire has its fair share of majestic hills and historic buildings, but it’s places like this that really resonate with me.
