Evening light on the Clun Valley, Shropshire, looking to the Cambrian Mountains in Wales.

How inviting is this - a country lane winds its way through the Clun Valley on a sunlit evening in spring. The light was perfect as it picked out the vivid green of the trees and fields, framed by the frothy white flowers of cow parsley.

I had been on the lookout for rolling countryside and long shadows, which often combine to create something special. I found exactly what I wanted not far from the village of Bettws y Crwyn, and just had to pull over to photograph this view with the Cambrian Mountains in the distance. There were no cars or even ramblers in sight - just the beautiful borderland between England and Wales.
