Wenlock Edge

A path through long grass on Wenlock Edge, Shropshire.
A green and gold evening on Wenlock Edge, with the tall grass swaying in the gentle breeze. Last night I walked along the footpath that skirts the edge of this field near Eaton-under-Heywood, taking in the simple sights and sounds of summer. In the far distance is Callow Hill, crowned by the familiar landmark of Flounders’ Folly.
I was out for three hours, and the only other sign of life apart from deer and birds was a lone horse-rider. Not a grand vista, perhaps, but there’s a charm in its simplicity and I was exploring footpaths I had never walked before. A wonderful way to spend an evening.
