Stiperstones pathway into the unknown
A walk into the unknown - I discovered this green pathway on the Stiperstones while out exploring one day.

The trees were bare at the time but I wanted to photograph them in full leaf, so I paid a return visit this week.
It felt like stepping back in time because the path is bordered with the remains of stone cottages that were once home to lead miners and their families.
A little further on and I came across grassed-over spoil heaps and tumbledown walls, part of an industrial legacy stretching back to Roman times.
It was a glorious summer’s evening but I couldn't stop to enjoy it - time to head off to my next location!
