New chapter begins for A Shropshire Lad
A new edition of A Shropshire Lad illustrated with my photographs goes on sale on September 7th.

A E Housman’s lyrical English poem holds a fond place in many hearts, as I discovered while I was out taking the pictures.
Curious passers-by often stopped to ask me what I was working on, and when I told them they would immediately start quoting Housman’s words.
This is the only photographic edition of A Shropshire Lad in which the county's stunning landscapes - which have scarcely altered since Housman’s day - have been matched with the stanzas on each page.
The book is published by Merlin Unwin Books of Ludlow and marks the 50th anniversary of the Housman Society.
It costs £20 (hardback) and will be available in all good bookshops as well as from the publisher and through this website.
