Chance encounter up on the Long Mynd
I thought I had the Long Mynd all to myself - until these two characters wandered into view.

I was standing above Batch Valley when the ponies walked across in front of me and started grazing, oblivious to the sea of white that was rolling across the landscape.
If you look carefully you can see the tip of Caer Caradoc on the horizon, emerging from the early morning mist.
This was a far more pleasant experience than my visit the previous week, when I had to contend with thunder, rain and hail while standing in exactly the same spot.
Strangely enough, time always seems to pass quickly when I’m out in in the landscape waiting for the weather to improve.
Whether I’m enduring a heavy downpour or simply waiting for the clouds to move into position, an hour or more can go by before you know it.
