Green and glorious along the borderlands
Early morning sunshine picks out the beautiful countryside on the border between England and Wales.

I was standing on Middletown Hill in Powys for this shot, but the patchwork of fields in front of me is in Shropshire.
On the horizon is Corndon Hill, which is actually in Wales although surrounded by Shropshire on three sides.
Corndon dominates the landscape and was once part of a Marcher hunting estate which was created after the Normans invaded in 1066.
Its history goes back much further, however, and the trig point on its summit stands on the remains of a Bronze Age burial cairn.
Not too early a start for me on this occasion - my alarm went off at a very reasonable 5am.
