Glorious sight as birds take to the skies
I’ve said it before - and I’m sure I will say it again - but the best pictures are often the ones you weren’t expecting.

You can plan all you like beforehand, but if the weather conditions aren’t right then there’s not a lot you can do about it.
I had been trying to capture this view of the summits of Caer Caradoc and Brown Clee for a long time, and yet another attempt last week looked doomed to failure.
I didn’t want to go back empty-handed, but things weren’t looking too hopeful as I sat in the car for three hours waiting for the sun to come out.
Then it all changed in a flash as a murmuration of starlings landed in the field just a few feet away from me.
The sun came out and I spent the next couple of hours watching as the birds swirled overhead.
Eventually they filled the sky above the two summits - exactly where I wanted them - and I finally got my shot.
