A misty walk at sunrise along Wenlock Edge
It looks like a watercolour painting, but this is beautiful Apedale at sunrise with the Wrekin seen in the distance.

I was standing on Wenlock Edge for this shot, not far from the village of Rushbury.
My alarm had gone off at 3am and as I headed out via Buildwas there was barely a hint of mist until I dropped down into Longville.
Even then there were only a few wisps and I began to think my early start was all for nothing.
However, I parked up and after a 20-minute walk I was confronted with this ethereal view.
As I walked, I listened to the birdsong while gazing across to the distant Stretton Hills and Wrekin, and I was able to pick out the calls of a goldcrest, a chiffchaff and a songthrush.
Once the sun rose above the horizon I was hit by a wall of heat, so I was glad to get my pictures and head back along the footpath and into the welcome shade of the trees.
