Snowy scenes along the canal at Ellesmere
Brrr! - it's been great taking pictures in the snow, but what a relief now the cold spell has eased its icy grip.

I came across this scene along the frozen Llangollen Canal at Ellesmere Wharf on a morning when even my thickest socks were failing to keep my feet warm.

An hour later and just a little further along the towpath I was able to capture this bright burst of colour from hawthorn berries framing narrowboats moored in the bright sunshine.
The icy roads and footpaths have been challenging, but I've enjoyed visiting places that I have never photographed in snow before.
However, it's always good to get back home and thaw out in front of the woodburner!
