Daffodils in bloom at beautiful Cardington
How typically English is this - a host of golden daffodils in the village of Cardington, near Church Stretton.

This is the view looking down the lane towards the 500-year-old Royal Oak, said to be the oldest continually licensed pub in Shropshire.
I enjoy listening to birdsong when I’m out taking photographs, but this shot was accompanied by a particularly noisy rook which you can see perched in the tree at the top of the picture.
Beyond the Royal Oak is a view of St James’ Church, which contains a memorial to Judge William Leighton.
The judge built nearby Plaish Hall, whose magnificent chimneys were the work of a prisoner who just happened to be a master builder.
The man had been condemned to death, but he agreed to build the chimneys in return for receiving a pardon.
However, the judge went back on his word and had him hanged as soon as he had completed the job.
