Early morning on Caer Caradoc, on a day when it was so cold that the water in this pool had turned to ice.

This is the view from the summit looking towards the Lawley, with the unmistakeable shape of the Wrekin standing out on the horizon.

Shrewsbury and Haughmond Hill are in the distance to the left of the shot, while a patchwork of green fields opens out on the right.

A favourite spot of mine to pause and enjoy the sweeping views across the Shropshire landscape.
