Midsummer sunrise over field of purple
Here's a midsummer sunrise over a beautiful field of purple phacelia at Beckbury, near Shifnal.

I had set my alarm for 3.30 so that I could reach the location with time to spare, and the only sign of life as I drove along the lanes was the occasional rabbit darting out in front of me.
This was the picture I came back with, and everything is in focus - from the flowers at the front to the tree in the background.
It involved taking no fewer than 43 shots, each focused a little further forward than the last and then combined to create a single image.
Not long afterwards the mist rolled in across the field, hiding the tree from view.
Earler, however, I had managed to get this shot, having looked on Google Maps the day before for some picture ideas.
I saw this solitary tree standing in the distance and it set me wondering - would it be possible to capture the moment when the sun appeared beneath the lower branches before being hidden behind the tree?
The answer was a very definite yes, with the low-lying mist proving to be an unexpected bonus.
