Rainbow lights up the sky above Ludlow
Here’s a vivid band of colour lighting up the sky above the ruins of lovely Ludlow Castle.

Over the years I must have spent hours standing in the rain waiting for a rainbow to appear, but they were always too faint or too far over to one side.
This week, however, my patience paid off and I finally got exactly what I wanted.
There wasn't any rain on the forecast, so it was a real bonus to be able to capture this shot from my favourite vantage point of Whitcliffe Common.
As I stood there, I couldn't help but remember the words of John Betjeman, who famously described Ludlow as 'probably the loveliest town in England'.
