A beautiful evening in the Stretton Hills

Sunshine and shadows - this is Carding Mill Valley, with Church Stretton seen in the distance.

A beautiful evening in the Stretton Hills

I had arrived an hour earlier and sat down on the grass to wait for the sun to come out.

There was a chill wind and I started to wish I had another layer to pull on, but eventually the conditions were right and I got my shot.

Later that same evening, I was standing on Cow Ridge and got this shot of shadows dancing across the slopes of Bodbury Hill above Carding Mill Valley.

On the horizon are, from left, the Wrekin, the Lawley, Caer Caradoc and Hope Bowdler Hill.

Cow Ridge is said to get its name from its long, humped shape, which resembles the back of a resting cow.

Here's a video of my day - in total I clocked up 25,000 steps!
